September 30th marks International Translation Day, and BELINK4U® would like to extend our warmest wishes to all language professionals and learners! Language professionals play an important role in uniting countries, promoting dialogue, understanding, and cooperation, driving development, as well as strengthening world peace and security. Therefore, the United Nations General Assembly declared September 30th as International Translation Day to show appreciation to language professionals.
This year’s theme for International Translation Day is “A World Without Barriers”. As a partner of the Workplace Innovation Course at the European College of Xi’an Foreign Studies University, BELINK4U® has invited the retired former Deputy Commercial Counselor of the Argentine Consulate in Guangzhou, Mr. Mario, to give an engaging online lesson to the students of Xi’an Foreign Studies University. Mr. Mario shared that there are 45 million people speaking Spanish in Spain and 42 million people speaking Spanish in the United States. Language is the basic element of communication, and translation can link the entire world. A world without barriers cannot be achieved without language translation. Language has a complex impact on identity recognition, communication, social integration, education, and development, and is of strategic importance to humanity and the planet. Mr. Mario also mentioned that language plays an essential role in sustainable development, ensuring cultural diversity and intercultural dialogue, promoting universal quality education, strengthening cooperation, building an inclusive knowledge society, and protecting cultural heritage, as well as mobilizing the use of scientific and technological achievements for sustainable development. At BELINK4U®, our mission has always been to build bridges with language. The theme of International Translation Day 2022, “A World Without Barriers”, echoes our efforts. We wish all language professionals and learners a happy International Translation Day!

BELINK4U provided Chinese-Spanish consecutive interpreting services for the hundred guests present. At the open day, there was not only a tasting of precious wines and delicious hams, but also a series of cultural and gastronomic activities. Mr. Aitor Mate, Chief Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Spanish Embassy in Guangzhou, introduced that Spanish cooking is at the forefront of Europe. The influence of different cultures has blended into the Spanish cooking tradition - olive oil from the Greeks, wine from the Romans, pastries from the Jews, fruits and seasonings from the Arabs. The Spanish Wine and Food Open Day Guangzhou Station was a grand annual meeting of Spanish wineries and wine lovers and professionals from Guangdong and South China. The COVID-19 pandemic, technological advancements, changing geopolitical landscape, and global environmental crisis have ushered in a complex and ever-changing VUCA era (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, Ambiguity). In response to this, BELINK4U was invited by the American Chamber of Commerce in South China (AMCHAM) to participate in the “Post-Pandemic Era Workplace Competitiveness Upgrade Seminar” in Guangzhou on September 21, 2022.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Harley, President of AMCHAM, posed the question: “How should we move forward? Can our past experiences keep up with the pace of development? Can we find a sustainable way to stay competitive in this rapidly changing environment?” He invited all the guests to find their own answers during the seminar. The seminar also invited Robert, Emeritus China CEO, Sabrina, Aslan Education Planning Founder, and Yoko, Nexbeat Brand Consultant Founder, to share their insights on the topic and to provide a deeper understanding of the development prospects of technological skills (such as artificial intelligence, business analytics, data analysis, etc.) and management capabilities. On September 20th, BELINK4U® was invited by the Guangdong British Chamber of Commerce to attend a Human Resources Industry Development Forum hosted by DEZAN SHIRA & ASSOCIATES, GOWLING WLG, FESCO·Adecco and KPMG at the BMA Guangzhou Conference Center.
The forum discussed topics related to Human Resources that will affect businesses in 2022. The current pandemic has caused a huge shift in the way businesses to operate and work. Cost efficiency and productivity have become keywords in Human Resources management. For managers, the challenge is how to update their management style and retain young employees. In terms of employee recruitment, businesses must also consider how to protect their business secrets and set terms for non-competition. The forum was moderated by Dr. Qi Bo from Hamlyn Williams, a multinational headhunting agency based in London. Mr. Liang Tao, Senior Director of DEZAN SHIRA & ASSOCIATES & Business Outsourcing Department in Shenzhen, Ms. Zhang Xin, Senior Manager of Human Resources at Xieli Management Consulting Co., Ltd., Ms. Liang Ying, Partner of Gowling WLG Guangzhou Representative Office, and Ms. Cheng Xiaojiang, former Vice President of Human Resources for CHO 100 Member & Global Multinational Corporation CREATE Group in China, all gave keynote speeches. During the forum, speakers and guests discussed topics such as how to manage diverse recruitment channels/methods to help businesses select the right talent, how to reduce costs and increase efficiency in the recruitment process, how to protect business secrets and set terms for non-competition, and how to make employees feel appreciated in the organization. |
