China - U.S. Automotive Industry Summit is initiated by the Automotive Chamber of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and serves as an important platform for exchanges between China and U.S. auto industries and the global auto community. The summit had been successively held in Beijing, Shanghai and Detroit. 2018 China-U.S. Automotive Industry Summit is successfully held in Beijing on April 24th, 2018. The first China - U.S. Automotive Industry Summit, held in Beijing during the 2014 Beijing International Auto Show, was jointly organized by Automotive Observer and China and U.S. authorities. Beijing and Shanghai played host to the summit in 2016 and 2017. The summit has attracted high level of interests of persons from relevant industries and was attended by government officials, leaders in the Auto industry, international business investment organizations, distinguished guests from legal services in China and U.S. as well as many mainstream media at home and abroad. The past few years have witnessed the progress of the international auto event in terms of global impact.
In 2018 Chinese government has cut its tariffs on imported cars, and will reduce foreign investment restrictions on special-purpose cars and new energy vehicles in free trade zones by June. American government also issued a series of policies and statements to facilitate its America-first manufacturing plan. At the same time, automotive tech innovation, such as intellectualization, car connectivity and electrification, have extended from concept cars to mass production. And a number of newcomers are taking this opportunity to rush to the auto industry. The global auto industry is experiencing an unprecedented revolution under the influence of policies, technologies and industry newcomers. China and U.S. boasts the largest and second largest auto market, together representing almost half of the global market. The auto industry in the two countries features strong complementarities, making it necessary for regular and effective communication between them. The 2018 China - U.S. Automotive Industry Summit will be held during the Beijing International Auto Show, with a mission to build the event into a permanent platform for exchanges between China and U.S. auto industry.
